Summer is Definitely On Its Way

May 12th, 2016

Temps up to 104° today and rising tomorrow….. but Saturday and Sunday it’s supposed to be below 100° and cooling for a few days next week.

The water levels are still running quite nicely and from what I can see in the current releases from Parker Dam and the projected releases it should remain pretty good for the weekend.  So far, for the last 1 & 1/2 months, the surface elevation hasn’t dropped below 219’ (that’s a good elevation for you recreational boaters).

Fishing has been pretty good as well.  We have some campers in here now going for Flathead Catfish.  They said if they get a big one, we get a filet or two from it.  Hopefully they catch more than one.  They are so yummy!

The Bass are biting pretty well also.  We’ve had two Bass tournaments in here recently.  Both of them the Blythe Rod and Gun club.  Here’s a couple photos from those days.

In this next pic, the biggest fish is the winner of the tourney.

Not a whole lot else going on out here, other than just getting by.  We’re still not sure about our power supply for the summer.  The temps are getting hotter where we need the A/C and we don’t really have the means to power it.  As I said earlier, we are getting by but not sure how long it will last.  The solar arrays aren’t working properly and the propane generator isn’t very healthy.

On the home front…. our good friend Lee gave us a pup from what I believe is a hybrid Argentine Giant Cactus (barrel type) and this is what the flowers look like The “giant” refers to the flowers.  Unfortunately the flowers only last one day.  All the same, I think it’s beautiful.

For some reason, this year has been really bad with pollen allergies.  My Nurse Practioner, her nurse and I are all suffering more than usual with sniffles and coughs.  I spend half the day coughing and blowing my nose.  It’s not a lot of fun when I wake up at 2 a.m. and start coughing.  Poor Thom.  I usually get up and try to take a nap later in the day.

I’m back to beading again.  I’m going to try to not take so many orders this time.  They wear me out and my energy level has dwindled bunches.

Almost 10:00 and bed time.  Time for me to shut down.

Ya’ll stay healthy and happy!

Toodles.
