Busy, Busy, Busy - j
July 3rd, 2010Usage in the park has picked up tremendously. Temps have gone up to the mid 90’s and people are seeking water to cool them off. We’re getting pretty good business in here. Today (July 3rd) I opened the booth at 7 and worked until noon. During that time I took in $2760+. That’s at $11/vehicle. I have to admit, my feet were sore and tired by the time I got off shift. During my shift, when it got busy, Larry came down to fill out tickets while I took money and handed out those tickets. After I got off shift, about 1/2 hour, I noticed Vic, my replacement had cars backed up wayyyyyyyyyy back, so I offered to go help him out. I spent 2-1/2 hours writing tickets for him. This is a huge weekend here and we are quite pleased with the business we got.
Things aren’t much better here as far as the way we are treated. We live with it hoping we don’t reach the end of our rope and feel we have to leave. In the meantime we are keeping watch on the Workamper’s News for something we’d like to move to for the rest of the summer season. We’ve made friends here and they make it easier to stay and put up with the BS. We also have decided there’s no reason not to speak our thoughts, so letting them know what we think, and what we’ll tolerate, also makes it easier to stick it out.
Count on our being busy for the next few days, so I think I’ll just post photos the next few day… if I post at all. Sorry, I’ve been so off on posting. I truly hope I’ll be inspired more when we move on this fall.
