Quick Correction… Update - j
November 9th, 2009After posting yesterday, our friend, Marv, read the blog and called us. He told us we were pretty much crazy to drive that distance for booze, he would pick up a case for Thom on his and Deb’s way down here this month and we could pay him back when they get here. As for the bird seed, we could go to the Costco in Phoenix only a little less than 2 hours away. So that is pretty much what we’ve done.
Marv ‘n Deb will do the booze shopping for us in Utah and we went to the Costco in Avondale about 20 miles west of Phoenix for the things we needed to pick up. The bird seed they carry in the Avondale Costco is NOT what I wanted, but was so inexpensive I bought 100 lbs anyway. I know the contents in this seed will bring in the dove and quail and probably the cactus wren, but the finches and sparrows may not be real happy with it.
Anyway we’re happy with the arrangements with Marv ‘n Deb and saved a bunch in gas money.
We’re really looking forward to seeing Marv ‘n Deb in 2 or 3 weeks.
Anyway… just wanted ya’ll ta know we didn’t do a crazy today after all. We had a good day. Got home from Phoenix by 1:20 and I finished another beaded hummingbird, thinned my turnips, and Thom dumped the gray tank. (Think I got better end of the afternoon activities)
Stay healthy ‘n happy.
Tah!
Hey hon, if it’s the bird seed in the green box you’re after I’d be more than happy to bring you some when we come in January. In fact if Marv has room to transport it, I’ll go get it and take it to him.
That stuff is awesome, we have our feeder right outside the office window, the birds LOVE it. Spazz thinks the smelavision here is almost as good as it was at the campground.
