Conserving - j
November 3rd, 2009We are trying to conserve gas and energy, so I’m not allowed to be online as much as I need to be. We used to run the generator in the morning for an hour then again while we watched TV at night. Now we aren’t running the generator in the morning, but letting the solar panels try to keep up in the morning. We do pretty good as long as my bladder wakes me up in the early morning and I remember to turn off the inverter when I get up (batteries are usually at 12.2V or so). By the time we get out of bed the batteries are back up to 12.5 or 12.6 volts, so we don’t really need the generator. I’d love to be able to do my banking and such in the mornings tho. I don’t have time to do email and everything with just the evening online time.
I’ve a few pics to share, but again, my time online is limited and to share the pics I have to upload them, then add them to the blog. I should be able to get them up tomorrow. I’ve a lovely shot of the full moon yesterday evening.
Ya’ll stay healthy and happy!
Tah!
Poor Darlin…did I mention that I went the last half of the summer with a shut off solar charger, and mostly didn’t notice? But then I don’t blame you a bit for getting used to full time power. Is the inverter something that could be set on a timer? Seems much more convenient than relying on your bladder.
…or can you shut down the inverter before bedtime? Where are those L16s that Thom’s been planning for?
